companies co focus on the
United U States and the
Asian A markets, with
samples sa and support.
But B there are many
shops s for components
and a even extreme
overclocking o
gear.
Online O shopping in
Europe E easily allows you
to t get everything you
need n for overclocking.
How H can things be
improved? Ask Linde
to t sell LN2 for less
than three Euros per
litre. But the German
overclocking scene is
one of the best in the world. All good overclockers
know each other and come together for competitions
and events.
What Germans
look like.
Are there any brands or manufacturers that
your country seems to prefer? Normally all good
overclockers choose the hardware with the best
performance, and don’t care who the manufacturer
is. Of course there are some ‘fan-boys’, but not in the
majority of cases. I think the most of the Extreme
Overclockers uses Intel CPU’s because AMD wasn’t a
good choice in the last few years (before Phenom II),
but it was a decision regarding to the performance.
Are there any brands or manufacturers that your
country seems to dislike? The performance brings
the decision, not the manufacturer.
What types of music do overclockers in your country
like? Electronic, House, Techno and Hip-Hop / Rap,
but we can’t speak for all Germans. On average all
kind of music is welcome. It depends on, what the
individual overclocker like or dislike.
What sort of PC specifi cation can be found in the
average home in your country? Hard to tell: probably
Pentium 4 equivalent to 2.4 GHz, Geforce 6600 GT and
1 Gb of memory.
Who are your biggest rivals? I think in the OC
business everybody can become a rival. Sometimes
you have the best score and other times somebody
else has it. That’s life... But at time all overclockers
in the Top 10 of HWBot are our rivals, just for
competition, not on a personal level. There is no

time to relax. If you calm down for a view weeks,
other overclockers beat your score and you have
to re-bench again. That’s overclocking and every
hardware-interested man or woman can become
a rival.
What would you say to any major manufacturers
reading this? In Germany it is not easy to get free
hardware from a manufacturer. To Intel: we could
need some more support from you. AMD is a good
example of how it could be. Thank you AMD!
What would you like to tell the world about
overclocking in your country? You can’t beat German
precision and determination. Sooner or later, we
will get you all! Just kidding, we are having fun in
what we do and I hope you also have. OC should
be more fun than a serious competition. We are a
very open-minded community. We met many other
overclockers from all over the world (for example
USA, Italy, France, Switzerland, Taiwan), talk about
hardware, overclocking and personal things. We hope
there is a chance to share more of these moments.
We all work hard, to manage the best scores, to get
interested threads in international forums and share
our knowledge with other overclockers. There are
many bench-sessions in the country over recent
years. Always overclockers from other countries are
welcome. So let us know and we can bench together
or arrange a competition.
Stein wenches.
