Are you and your horse
especially skilled? Do you
like to compete, but not
necessarily in the show
ring? Craig Cameron’s
Extreme Cowboy Race
may be for you! You may
have watched this exciting
event on RFD-TV or
live. Go from spectator
to participant with these
tips.
Sport basics: An Extreme
Cowboy event challenges both
horse and rider to maneuver
through a series of obstacles
demonstrating both horsemanship
and speed. A score is
given for each obstacle on the
course, overall horsemanship,
and speed. Courses (obstacles,
terrain, and length) are different
at every event. Each season,
horseman Craig Cameron,
creator and host of the Extreme
Cowboy Race, assembles a roster
of competitors from around
the country who compete for
the title of Extreme Cowboy
Race Champion.
About EXCA: The Extreme Cowboy
Association is the official
governing body for cardholders
in the sport of Extreme Cowboy
Racing. It has developed the
official competitive structure
for all EXCA cardholders, which
includes 14 regions across the
United States. Each region offers
local, state, and regional
championship competitions
that lead to the EXCA national
championship competition.
