o put somee
and see if
get down”
Did it take long for Process to find itself as a
clothing brand?
Like I stated before, we spent the majority of
our free time during design school experimenting
with the look and feel of our clothing line/design
company. The development of the idea we
are putting forward as Process has been in the
works for over 3 years. The visual language has
been solidly established, allowing us to endlessly
design for the line. Naturally, things will
evolve and we will develop new ideas that we
will incorporate into the line as we see fit.
How did you find starting a company in such a
competitive area of clothing fashion?
Well, we’re not trying to compete. We all have
day jobs, so we’re not worried about selling
500,000 units. We wanted to create something
that we could be proud of. We’re not making a
graphic tee line that has graphics for the sake of
graphics. We refer to those lines as “noncepts.”
Our ideas come from within. They’re personal,
yet they are relatable to most. Our desire is
to put something out there and see if people
want to get down. The dependency on money
in order to survive in the clothing industry can
lead to noncepts. There are enough nonceptual
clothing lines out there that stand for everything
and nothing at the same time.
