Stanfords is holding a book launch for Crimson’s Once While Travelling: The Lonely
Planet Story by Maureen and Tony Wheeler on 10th September at 7.30pm at its
London store (12–14 Long Acre, Covent Garden). Tony Wheeler, co-founder of Lonely
Planet, will speak at the event, revealing the story of how the brand began, grew and
was then sold to the BBC. Tickets cost £3, including wine, and can be purchased instore

The fifth Women’s Fiction Festival is being held from 25th to 28th September
in Matera, Italy. It is an international writers’ conference offering the chance for
writers to meet editors and agents and talk about books, markets and trends. There
is a full programme of events for both published and unpublished writers including
industry seminars, mini-courses in writing, and briefings for thriller writers. For further

The Orion Publishing Group has recalled copies of Kieren Fallon: The Biography of
the Controversial Jockey by Andrew Longmore (hardback ISBN 9780752873763,
export trade paperback ISBN 9780752888637) following legal advice. Returns labels
for Littlehampton Book Services have been sent to all customers who purchased the
book and the purchase price of the book will be credited to the relevant LBS account.
Wholesalers have sent the appropriate details and returns notices to their customers
who should return the book to their wholesaler. Customers and wholesalers will be
reimbursed for carriage costs and the purchase price. Any queries should be directed
