LONDON COLISEUM
American Ballet Theatre
LE CORSAIRE
Music by Adolphe Adam
American Ballet Theatre is world-renowned for its
dazzling productions and the breathtaking skills of its
principal dancers. These are perfectly showcased in
Le Corsaire, an exotic fable of a pirate’s love for a beautiful
slave girl that combines bravura dancing with lavish
sets and costumes. The cast of over 120 performers whisk
the audience from bejewelled palaces to a shipwreck on the
high seas, in a treasure trove of virtuoso dancing.

Following his sold out performances of PUSH in 2008, acclaimed
choreographer and performer Russell Maliphant returns to the
Coliseum with a programme celebrating 10 years of work.
Featuring an exceptional array of guest artists, and showcasing the
inimitable partnership of Agnes Oaks and Thomas Edur of English
National Ballet the evening features some of Maliphant’s key works,
including Knot, Sheer and Critical Mass.
Former Royal Ballet dancer Dana Fouras returns to the stage in her
signature piece Two, in a new version for two dancers created
especially for this evening.
Featuring sublime lighting created by Maliphant’s longtime collaborator
Michael Hulls, this evening - like PUSH before it - promises to be one
of the dance events of the year.
