Usually a conversation with our
highly-trained specialists starts with
us asking about your favourite music and
movies. To give you our best advice we
will need to know what your entertainment
comes on – CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs,
a set-top box (e.g. Sky), digital music
(on a PC or iPod) or vinyl (yes, it’s making
a comeback!). If you have brought your
iPod or a favourite DVD to the store,
all the better, as we can try these out
on the latest equipment.
Our in-store experts will want to know
basic ‘living’ things like where you will
be listening to or watching your new kit
and what the dynamics of the room are: how
big it is, where the TV or hi-fi is situated
and whether you want the equipment to be
discreet or centre-stage. We need to know
if there are any factors that could hamper
performance: shafts of light streaming onto
your flat screen or a speaker crammed a
little too close to the audio components.
Nothing yet, you’ll note, about ‘interfaces’,
‘compression’ and ‘calibration’!
If you are upgrading an existing system,
we will want to know what equipment you
intend to keep so we can match products
that complement it. Our team understand
the advantages of all the brands we
stock and how they interact with other
components to get the best results.
With 30 years’ experience we are adept
at getting to the heart of what’s important
to you, so we can offer expert opinion
on the products that best suit your needs
and budget. Richer Sounds stocks only
the biggest brands and with each new
innovation – HDTV, Blu-ray, 7.1 surround
sound and upsampling technology to
make the most of your digital music
- your choices have become more
exciting but also much more complex.
More than ever, smart advice is critical
and at Richer Sounds you can rest assured
we’re committed to helping you get the
most from your hard-earned cash.
