ADDINGVALUE
MAGAZINE MONTH
PPA Ireland (PPAI) has been working
hard to raise awareness of Irish
magazines by launching a new
initiative, Irish Magazine Month,
to highlight, through a variety of
different media, the benefits of Irish
magazines among distributors,
retailers, the ad industry and most
importantly readers. It took place in
October 2007 and was promoted
through independent retailers,
advertising and PR. Readers were
asked to take part in a nationwide
survey that asks what they like most
about magazines.
FIT FOR THE FUTURE
A HIGH PROFILE PANEL OF JUDGES (left) provided expert
advice for the Scottish Schools competition and will be
invited back for the 2008 competition, which is already
underway. With a record number of entries submitted
for the 2007 Scottish Magazine Awards, the future of
magazine publishing in Scotland is bright. Meanwhile in
2008 PPAI’s priority is to raise the profile of magazines
as a unique and effective advertising medium among
ad agencies and brand managers.
DISTRIBUTION BREAKTHROUGH
PPAI has worked with newsstand
distributors, retailers and PPAI
members to change the way the
newsstand distribution chain works
in order to make it more efficient,
environmentally sound, to increase
sales efficiency and ultimately to
make it easier for its members to
ensure that our magazines get into
the hands of our readers.
