which aim to develop and raise standards, educate
and resolve problems on issues of magazine
production, including digital, print and paper.

the future of print, digital workflows
and environmental issues have been
commissioned over the last year,
providing fascinating insight for the
wider membership. The future for
print initiative involved collating
the views of the top publishers to
understand the likely trends in print
over the next 10 years.

FIT FOR THE FUTURE
ENVIRONMENT ISSUES are at the top of the production &
technology agenda, with increased cooperation with the
Environment Committee to raise awareness of issues
among publishers a key priority. Other key priorities
include: further developing the best practice guidelines
for the digital workflow to reflect new and emerging
technologies; reviewing the certificate in production
management and continuing to host PPA’s Magazine
production conference and awards.
“Pic4press aims to increase
knowledge and understanding
at all levels of the creative
chain.Using PPA’s pic4press
guidelines means there is less
chance of errors in the PDF
creation process or on press,
saving time and money.”
