THREE PILLARS
The consumer, business media and
customer sectors have hosted a
range of activities, promoting their
respective areas. The consumer
sector has seen a host of impactful
events from a marketing conference
at the IMAX cinema bringing
advertisers agencies and publishers
together, to the Magsell conference
and Magazine night. PPA Business
Media has launched a series of hot
topic forums under the Power of 3
banner, along with an editors’
conference, sales rally, networking
lunches and the first day of the
annual conference. APA has brought
customer publishers and potential

clients together at a range of events
from digital breakfasts to awards
celebrations, a marketing directors’
conference and a principals’forum.
INTERACTIVE AND
INDEPENDENT
IPAC has held four topic specific
forums where groups of smaller
publishers have gathered to learn
about new developments in the
publishing industry and how they
can make their magazine businesses
work harder. The Association
of Online Publishers (AOP) has
held eight forums covering
current issues in the interactive
market place.

AUTUMN EVENTS
In addition there are conferences
and awards for other select
functional groups such as the
Production conference and awards
giving the opportunity for
production specialists to come
together, Customer Direct for
subscription and circulation
professionals and lunches held with
our strategic partners to inform and
share relevant knowledge about the
market place.
2008 ONWARDS will see the focus on
face-to-face events increase with
more hot topic forums for business
media. The annual conference will
more closely reflect the needs of the
two separate audiences – consumer
and business. APA will continue to
address the needs of the customer
publishers with a variety of events
of different sizes, covering a wide
range of subject matter. All of this
takes place alongside the scheduled
activities of committees, councils
and boards due to meet throughout
the year as PPA moves to more
accurately reflect the diverse needs
of its varied membership base.
