Intelligent Energy is a leading fuel cell power systems company, focused on the provision of clean
power and carbon abatement, via a range of world-class fuel cell, fuel processing and hydrogen
generation technologies. Due to rapid growth we are looking fill vacancies in the following areas:
PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT
Senior Project Manager (from £34,000pa)
Candidates should have either motive electrical powertrain technology experience or practical experience
of working with fuel cell systems. A relevant first degree (science or engineering) or equivalent is
essential together with experience of customer liaison & negotiations; management of technical
personnel; team working; and excellent communication & reporting skills. A working knowledge of ISO &
IEC standards & EC directives in relation to automotive or fuel cell certification would be beneficial.
RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY
Manager, IP and R&T Programmes (from £34,000pa)
The job will involve internal project management and co-ordination of new system and component development and management of the
company’s patent and intellectual property portfolio. A relevant first degree, project management experience, experience managing an IP
portfolio and an understanding of fuel cell technology are essential together with aptitude and eagerness to undertake some hands-on testing
of components and research systems.
ENGINEERING
Test and Validation (3 vacancies)
Working in multi-disciplinary teams the roles involve experimental fuel-cell testing, data analysis,
interpretation, report writing and may involve development of test protocols. Communication and team
working skills and mechanical aptitude are essential together with good IT skills and excellent personal
organisation. Familiarity with electrochemical systems and fuel cells would be a distinct advantage.
Mechanical Design (3 vacancies)
The roles involve design and production of engineering drawings for both innovative components and complete packaged fuel cell systems, via the
use of 3D CAD software. Demonstration of excellent problem solving abilities, being able to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary
team and good communication skills are essential. Involvement in the design progression from prototype demonstrators to small quantity batch
production will also be expected. Experience in aspects of thermal, fluid, electrical and structural elements of engineering will also be desirable.
Electrical and Electronic (2 vacancies)
All candidates should have a proven practical background in electrical/electronic prototyping including panel wiring and PCB work. Vehicle
harness or electrical power-train/propulsion system experience would be an advantage.
Engineering vacancies at various levels including:
Engineer I (from £17,500pa) – HND plus relevant experience
Engineer II (from £23,500pa) – First degree plus relevant experience or HND plus significant relevant experience
Senior Engineer (from £32,000pa) – Post graduate qualification plus relevant experience or degree
plus extensive relevant experience.
