Sensor and drives advances, their
applications and the business benefits are
highlighted in a day of free seminars being
offered by industry-leading firms SICK and
Lenze. The popular Automation Technology
Seminars programme for 2008 combines discussion of the latest industry issues and real
application examples with an opportunity to see working demonstrations and ask the experts.
Subjects include pioneering advances in 3D vision inspection and developments in logistics
control. The seminars will also cover the implications of new machine safety legislation.

A range of heaters for enclosures installed outdoors protects the
internal electronics from temperature fluctuations. Available with
400W and 800W outputs to prevent the internal temperature
dropping below the operational level, they also facilitate the
reduction of condensation within dual-walled cabinets where severe
low temperatures are encountered. The heaters snap onto DIN top
hat rails or screw into the punched frame sections of the
enclosure. All heaters have a protective grille in both the air inlet
and outlet. They are supplied with a complimentary thermostat.
THE INTERNATIONAL HARD ANODISING ASSOCIATION
The International Hard Anodising Association has announced
the forthcoming Symposium to be held in Seville, Spain on
September 7th, 8th and 9th. The Symposium will cover all
aspects of hard anodising and anodic films including
metallurgical developments in aluminium. The speakers will
also cover customer’s requirements and other aspects of aluminium treatments.
The Symposium will be of interest to processors and users of aluminium, designers and
academics. For more information including registration forms and hotel reservations contact

ASTROSYN
Astrosyn International Technology has introduced two
linear actuators driven by permanent magnet stepper
motors. Both models have a shaft stroke length of
12.7 mm with a push / pull force of 35 N. Step
angles are 15 or 7.5 degrees, producing a pitch /
step of 0.0254 mm and 0.0127 mm respectively.
The 12 Vdc actuators offer advantages in a range of applications, such
as three way valve control in HVAC systems, antenna adjustment,
emission control and in medical and laboratory instruments.

Ri4Power Form 2-4 is a modular system for low-voltage
applications in motor control or energy distribution for loads up to
1,600A. It is ASTA certified and has been type-tested in
accordance with IEC 60439 Part 1. The system provides easy
planning, simple handling, perfect installation and a high degree of
modularity. TS 8 enclosures form the basis of the system, their
dimensions and expandability offering complete flexibility. Door
heights range from 150mm to 2,000mm. Ri4Power is supplied as
a flat pack or assembled as steel work and copper.
FUCHS RENOCLEAN
The level of component cleanliness required by manufacturers in
industry is continually increasing. FUCHS has developed a product
range to suit these demands and provides bespoke solutions to
some of the world’s leading manufacturers. Two new additions to
the FUCHS portfolio have proved an instant success in the UK
market. FUCHS trialled RENOCLEAN VR 1021 ZK and
RENOCLEAN S 237 BF in Germany and Spain with high
performance results and excellent feedback. Both products have
now been launched in the UK.

RITTAL
The new Rittal4Racks directory is now available
which focuses on solving the key issues facing
today’s network and data centre designer.
Current IT trends show an increase in rack
density as more blade servers are installed. The
new Rittal directory addresses these demands
and the problems associated with them, while
also helping to reduce installation costs and
increase operational reliability.

RiLine NH on-load isolators provide safe, reliable isolation
protection from downstream electrical equipment. They are
available with or without fuse monitoring and range from 100-
630A (60mm), sizes 000 to 3, and can be easily mounted directly
onto busbar systems. If a fuse blows, a signal is sent immediately
to advise of the need for a replacement, without affecting plant
availability. Fitting of a micro switch indicates the switching
position of the isolator lid to the control desk/room. All designs
have a screwdriver-operated lock as standard.
Promanex has launched its new website, offering visitors access
to an overview of the specialist services provided, including
company news and job vacancies. The website,
www.promanex.com, covers the group and its three operating
divisions and has been re-designed and re-branded to coincide
with the company's decision to group together its three
separate trading businesses under one banner. The move
enables Promanex to provide its customers with a wider range
of specialised services.
TRELLEBORG
European, Scandinavian and South African distributors of the
anti-vibration specialist Trelleborg Industrial AVS (TIAVS)
met in Portugal for a 3-day conference. The programme
included extensive technical training sessions and sales and
marketing activities. Chris Denis, TIAVS Market Manager
Distribution Europe & Scandinavia says: “The conference clearly put the emphasis on
how to compete technically and diversify from the competition. Core values such as
correct stock levels, quality, technical knowledge and communication have resulted in a
major breakthrough within the TIAVS Distribution network.”
QUANTITECH
Quantitech believes it has the perfect solution for almost any biodiesel
testing requirement with its range of equipment from high
performance laboratory-based instruments to compact on-site
analysers. The low-cost InfraCal Filtometer and the Infra-Spec VFA-IR
Spectrometer from Wilks Enterprise, can monitor more than one
component. Both are the ideal choice for easy, on-site biofuel analyses
to ensure product quality. A quick analytical measurement method to
assess the blend ratio can be a valuable asset for fuel distributors,
engine manufacturers, fleet operators, and regulatory agencies.
ROCOL
ROCOL Lubricants' approach to quality,
price, delivery, service and innovation has
been given a resounding endorsement at
an industry awards ceremony. At an
awards dinner at the Heritage Motor
Museum last month hosted by former
