It’s not only a cliché, Italians have a real passion for
football and Formula 1. Many world famous car brands
are one of the most fascinating expressions of Italian
excellences: great passion and tradition mixed with
forefront technology and design are the features of
luxury brands such as Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini,
Maserati and Ducati.
The occasion of the Italian GP in Monza (a few
kilometres from Milan) to organise novel and distinctive
branded events can be really exciting if combined with
exclusive theme itineraries in northern and central Italy,
enriched with visits to company sites, Ferrari Gallery
and museum in Maranello, close to the food-valley,
the home-region of parmesan cheese and balsamic
vinegar, discovering not only the heart of the car world,
but also the heart of Italian traditional gastronomy, in
one of its most delightful combinations.
The Teatro alla Scala opens the opera season in
December, a highlight of the Milanese social calendar.
A guided tour to discover the backstage of the
Teatro alla Scala and a guided tour of the Ansaldo
Workshops is something that can be provided
all year round. The journey goes through all the
pavilions, ending in Pavilion 36 where it is possible, on
occasions, to organise private corporate concerts and
conferences.
This huge 20 000 square metre facility is divided
into three pavilions dedicated to director Luchino
Visconti, stage designer Nicola Benois and costume
designer Luigi Sapelli. Most of the handmade works
for the production are carried out there – set design,
sculpture, thermoforming, carpentry works, mechanic
workshop, set assembly, costume workshop, costume
design, laundry. The premises hold more than 60 000
stage costumes, and includes the rehearsal rooms for
the chorus and a stage area for direction rehearsals
which perfectly corresponds to the Piermarini stage.
Not many people know that Milan is also the place
where Leonardo Da Vinci spent most of his life, so a
trip to Milan is not complete without visiting Da Vinci’s
masterpiece “The Last Supper”. The tour also includes
a visit to the Science & Technique Museum where
there is a big area completely dedicated to Leonardo’s
works and projects. The museum also features a large
meeting room and has wonderful spaces and locations
for gala dinners.
Dinner experiences are also very interesting and
fun, not to mention the high-quality, classical regional
restaurants that you can find in any other city, and the
starred international chefs’ “demeures”, in Milan you
can choose between restaurants-boutique, concept
stores and aperitifs with massage. The latest trend is
multi-purpose venues where you can have a “campari”,
dine or organise an event. And so while you sip your
aperitif, you can try on hats and scarves, buy a wallet
or choose your attire for tomorrow’s dinner.
These are perfect places to give delegates a taste of
Italy at its trendiest.
Only 30 minutes away lies Como and its silk
laboratories and shops. After a walk in the medieval
city centre, it is very relaxing to sail on the lake or
