INCENTIVE DESTINATION
Armani Building in via Manzoni.
Venue Italia DMC, based in Milan, with offices
in Florence and Rome, is one of the leading
DMCs in Italy that perfectly exemplify the real
soul of Milan; they are represented by Lu Dowell
Representations, based in Gauteng.
This is how managing director Claudia
Pelosin Corti likes to talk about Milan, what
to do, and when to go.
Milan is Italy’s second largest city, it’s
the capital of business, fashion, design
and services and is currently undergoing
a period of great transformation.
Large industrial zones are giving way
to areas providing innovative services,
while the number of new concept hotels
is increasing, not only in luxury. Milan
gives a home to the unique seven-star
Town House Galleria facing the cathedral.
Many hotels have recently opened following
highly personalised styles and concepts, and
the industry is also attracting some of fashion’s
leading players, including Armani, Missoni and,
Dolce e Gabbana.
Event spaces for corporate events are
proliferating – not only congress centres,
international fairs, but outstanding industrial
buildings are being converted into meeting
areas, while theatres and museums have opened
their doors, offering the opportunity to enjoy
memorable permanent art collections or the
latest contemporary exhibitions, together with a
cocktail or a light-dinner, before moving on to the
night-life.
Like other international cities, Milan is thriving.
Its flow of energy renovates itself every season,
and it’s no surprise that it has been chosen as the
site of the next 2015 Universal Expo. The city is
preparing to be just great.

Sometimes it’s hard to choose
where to suggest your next
incentive or conference in Italy,
as this country is a leader in the
international classification of
national beauty, as stated
by UNESCO, which protects
the shared heritage of
humankind, from nature to
art.
Milan is certainly, now
more than ever, a gateway
to Italy, and although the
city offers many all year
round attractive occasions,
certainly some of them are
really not-to-be-missed
events.
One good occasion to
visit the northern Italy
capital, says Venue Italia
dmc, is the Salone del
Mobile, that takes place
mid-April. This event attracts
thousands of people from all over
the world, looking for new trends
on design and life-style. Although
this is a meeting for professionals,
what is really interesting for
incentive visitors is the Fuori
Salone, an off-trade show that
covers a series of events – cultural,
exhibitions, vernissage openings,
concerts, cat walks, street-artists
performances – that transforms
the city and a whole area in the
most fashionable corner of
Europe for the week.
