Cultural reflections
One of the most stunning features of the Mardan
Palace is its design. Created by a team of some of the
most accomplished designers in the world, the hotel
architecture pays homage to the most famous landmarks
of the city of Istanbul: the Dolmabahce Palace, the Kuleli
building, the Maiden Tower and the Da Vinci Bridge. For
example, to reflect its beauty and historical significance,
the hotel’s Dolmabahce Palace lobby features a 21m
high ceiling and 2800 sq. m of open lobby floor space,
including a lobby terrace with the view of a stained glass
ceiling designed in the traditional style of Ottoman art.
Furthermore, Mardan Palace is divided into three
wings; reflecting the most important cultures that
have left their imprint on Turkey over the centuries.
The Anatolian wing, consisting of a total of 225
rooms, is decorated in a traditional Ottoman style,
through majestic colour combinations set in dark
wood and finished with gold detailing. All beds in this
wing sport head boards set in a velvet design. The
European Wing is crafted in a post modern interior
design reflecting simplicity within the total of 203
rooms. Last but by no means least, equipped with the
most luxurious furniture, the Dolmabahce wing provides
the finest comfort in its spacious rooms. A total of 88
rooms can be found in this wing, all designed in very
stylish Ottoman fashion with rich palatial features and
a warm atmosphere. Rooms are equipped with private
laptops and most rooms have a spacious terrace.
