THE Soraluce milling machine range available from the Ward CNC
portfolio of machine tools is represented at the MACH 2008 exhibition by
the new TA-35A, traveling table milling centre, which comes with a 20station
automatic toolchanger and fitted with the Heidenhain iTNC-530
CNC control system.
This high-end specification machine is equipped with a fully
programmable, automatic universal milling head, offering high accuracy
and high performance via its 24kW, 3000revs/min motor with throughspindle
coolant facility and auto tool clamping, without the need for
external pipe work.
The machine has a table size of 3,700 by 1,000mm - which is able to
accommodate workpieces up to 7,000kgs in weight - and offers axis travels
of 3,500 by 1,250 by 1,000mm with rapid traverse rates of 25m/min.
Ward CNC (T W Ward CNC
Machinery Ltd), the Ward Plant
and Machinery Group, supplies
new CNC machine tools, used
machine tools, remanufactured
and retrofitted CNC machine
tools, as well as machine
servicing and laser calibration
services. www.wardcnc.com

Citizen's latest CNC sliding head auto will demonstrate simultaneous cutting
with two tools on front and reverse ends of a component.
NC Engineering (turning): Stand: 5260
TYPE VII version of Citizen's CNC sliding head automatic lathe, the
seven-axis (up to 21 tool) A20, incorporating a new X-2 axis on the
back spindle and back tool post, will demonstrate simultaneous
cutting with two tools on the front and reverse ends of a component.
The machine has 8,000revs/min spindle and subspindles and
rapid traverse rates from 18 to 32m/min. Four 6,000revs/min driven
tools are standard; one can be interchanged to accept face, rotary or
slitting style tools.
Available in left and right-hand main spindle formats, Citizen’s
A20-VII machines parts up to 165mm long. It comes at an installed
and ready-to-run package price of £75,000, which includes 3m
Iemca barfeed, Sandvik Coromant QS quickchange tool system, and
workpiece conveyor.
Main spindle power is 3.7kW and subspindle 1.5kW; both
spindles having maximum speeds of 8,000revs/min and full C-axis.
The modular toolholder configuration holds up to five turning tools;
plus four front end tools and eight positions for back end machining
that can be split into four tools on each side of the spindle.
Four, 6,000revs/min driven tools are powered by 0.75kW motors
positioned by a Fanuc-based Series 32i control that incorporates
Citizen developed 'Streamline Control' technology with high speed
processing software that reduces idle or non-cutting times and
improves productivity through the use of overlapped sequences.
