Sheet metalworking equipment manufacturer LVD will be focusing on cost-effective
automation and integrated sheet metalworking solutions at MACH 2008.
LVD (forming & fabrication): Stand 4466
SHEET metalworking equipment manufacturer LVD
will be focusing on 'cost-effective' automation and
integrated sheet metalworking solutions for the
theme of its show this year, with two new machines
not previously exhibited in the UK, including one
world debut.
Making its world debut, the RoboCell automated
robotic bending cell offers affordable automated
bending with the combination of LVD's extensive
pressbrake bending technology and KUKA robotic
material handling together with an integrated, offline
LVD CADMAN software system.
Described by LVD as competitively priced against
other robotic bending cells in the market, RoboCell is
easy to operate and program and is suited to
companies looking for affordable automation of the
bending of small to medium sized components.
Fanuc GE will demonstrate
how its CNCs, drives and
simulation software can
improve machine tool
productivity.
Fanuc GE
(controls, drives, software): Stand 5558
FANUC GE Series 0i controllers, now offer more functions: TTC
version now satisfies high demands of two-spindle lathes. Series
30i/31i/32i CNCs are for high-end applications; numerous functions
maximise productivity from combined lathe/milling centres and
five-axis machines, multi-spindle and transfer machines.
Workshop programming software, Manual Guide i, can be used for
complex multi-path machines. In addition to diverse machining and
milling cycles, it has new functions for multi-channel turning as
well as programming in the tilted working plane.
With 3D Interference Check, machine manufacturers and
operators can safeguard all collision-risk areas using geometric
figures.
Fanuc GE will display ‘NC Guide’ PC software, a networkcompatible
version of the combined GE Fanuc CNC/Manual Guide i
simulator, which can be used for training and instruction without
taking the machine out of production. End-user software using the
Internet includes file transfer tools (PC to CNC), Teleservice (linking
Fanuc GE engineers directly to a users CNC), and CNC Parts Online
(user requested parts obtained at speed and reduced cost).
For OEMs, Fanuc GE offers software such as ‘NC Guide pro’, which
includes PMC programming so that full machine control can be
developed offline, as well as FANUC Picture and FANUC Ladder III,
tools for setting and customisation.
The FANUC Robotics exhibit on the stand provides an example of
easy integration and visualisation with a Fanuc CNC using FANUC
Picture software. www.fanucge.com
Flexible and intuitive, RoboCell enables the operator
to move from 'art to part' faster and with less
intervention than other conventional robotic bending
cells, says LVD.
The LVD Orion 3015 plus CNC laser cutting
machine complete with automated autoload unit
makes its UK debut. Aimed at subcontractors or
OEM's that require a compact and ‘value minded’
automated laser cutting solution, the Orion 3015 Plus
Autoload provides automated laser cutting in a
robust, compact package.
LVD will also exhibit its CADMAN offline software
including CADMAN B 3D for bending, CADMAN P
for punching, and CADMAN L for laser cutting,
demonstrating how LVD combines the manufacturing
processes with a fast route from 'art to part'.

Group Rhodes is to display a new range of Ermak hydraulic press
brakes and horizontal impact extrusion presses
Group Rhodes
(forming equipment): Stand 4560
THE Ermak CNCHAP 3-Axis Synchronized Hydraulic Press Brake
incorporates advanced design and construction, while utilising the
conventional down-stroking ram design. Renowned as being highly
productive, accurate, and economical, all Ermak press brakes are easy to
operate and provide simplified and easily accessible controls for
optimum operator efficiency and output. The frame construction
features a stress-relieved steel frame designed for excellent rigidity and
cross-system alignment.
Also on display will be the latest Rhodes KJX Extrusion Press, which
has been specifically designed and developed for continuous high-speed
operation with complete reliability. An improved linkage arrangement
ensures that inertia forces within the press are reduced to a minimum.
All KJX Presses are designed with dual balancing systems to ensure
smooth vibration free running at high producing speeds. The AC
variable drive motor available as standard makes automatic speed
changes quickly and safely. The Ergonomically redesigned tool-space
area with improved accessibility makes the KJX presses a popular choice
with plant operatives. State of the art design features include PLC and a
load measurement stress sensor, which measures tonnage at each press
stroke and monitors for overload and underload of the press or tooling.
Beauford Engineers, a member of Group Rhodes, will also be
exhibiting. In addition to the design and manufacture of heavy
mechanical handling equipment for transporting and manipulating
components for the steel processing
and nuclear industries, Beauford
Engineers are also renowned for
their ability to manufacture largescale
technical fabrications and
structural assemblies.
