The NTA has recently published new guidelines “Supporting and involving
Carers”. Focussing on the importance of working with families and
carers, this course offers training in:
� Evidence based practice
� Exploring theoretical models of working with families
� Involving families/carers in the treatment of the substance misuser
� Developing services to family members/carers in their own right
With visiting lecturers, Professor Alex Copello (Birmingham and
Solihull Substance Misuse Services & the University of Birmingham)
and Lorna Templeton (MHRDU at Bath - Avon & Wiltshire Mental
Health Partnership NHS Trust and the University of Bath) presenting
current research. This course is accredited by the University of Bath.
