FLIGHT ROUTES
Jet2 is set to launch fl ights to Dalaman
from Manchester and Leeds in May
2009. The fl ights went on sale on
October 13 and will run during the
summer season from May 2009 until
September 2009.
Scottish airline fl yglobespan.com
will introduce fl ights to Dalaman from
Edinburgh every Saturday from April
25 2009; from Glasgow every
Wednesday from April 1 2009; and
from Aberdeen every Thursday from
May 2 2009. The fl ights will operate
until the end of October 2009.
Bookings can be made now and
agents can earn 5% commission.
Pegasus Airlines began operating
a fi fth, weekly fl ight on its Stansted–
Istanbul route on October 1, adding to
a fourth fl ight launched in September.
The latest service departs on Fridays
from Stansted at 1.15pm, arriving in
Istanbul at 6.50pm.

ANTALYA GETS A LUXURY HOTEL
There are plenty of high-end hotels for
the well-heeled traveller in Turkey.
Most fi ve-star hotels can be found in
the upmarket resorts of Belek and
Antalya, where golf is popular.
The resort of Mardan Palace,
which promises to expand the
country’s luxury off ering, is set to
open this week in Antalya. It’s big and
brash thanks to its 560 rooms, Las
Vegas-style gondolas, which will sail
guests around the Mediterranean’s
largest swimming pool, and a
900-seat amphitheatre that will host
dazzling light shows. The opulent
decor has been designed to resemble
an Ottoman palace.
There will be 10 restaurants,
serving a variety of food such as
Japanese, French and Russian. The
7,500sq metre hammam-style spa
off ers a range of holistic treatments –
from hot stone to Shiatsu massages.

courts, bowling alleys, watersports,
volleyball and squash.

ADVENTURE TOURS
The Adventure Company has added
two trips in Turkey for 2009/10.
Trekking in Turkey is a 15-day tour
that passes through the Taurus
Mountains before ending in
Cappadocia. Prices lead in at £1,049
per person, including fl ights,
accommodation, transport, activities
and some meals. The other eight-day
trip, Active Cappadocia, includes
cycling, horse riding, and swimming
in the rivers and waterfalls. Prices
start from £979 per person,
including accommodation, fl ights,
transport, activities and some meals.
