The Beatson Institute for Cancer Research is core-funded by
Cancer Research UK and provides a dynamic, supportive and
well-resourced environment for its scientists in parkland on
the north-western edge of Glasgow. Our research groups are
working in three key areas: cell proliferation and growth; cell
death and survival; and cell migration and invasion.
We are looking for students with a very good degree in
Biological Sciences, who have an aptitude for experimental work
and who are highly committed to pursuing a career in cancer
research.The Beatson has an excellent reputation and success
record in training its graduate students. Students, whilst being
trained at the Institute working within our research groups, will
normally matriculate with the University of Glasgow.

David Gillespie, Checkpoints & Cell Cycle Control
Eyal Gottlieb, Apoptosis & Tumour Metabolism
Danny Huang, Structural Biology of Ubiquitination
Kevin Ryan, Tumour Cell Death
Karen Vousden, Tumour Suppression
Studentships are funded for four years, starting in October
2010. The first year’s stipend will be £15,350, and will increase
