Technical specialists from some thirty of the UK’s leading
metrology and allied technology companies will be on
hand on 14 November at RAF Cosford, Shropshire at ‘Make
Measurement Matter’, latest event in the GTMA’s series of
metrology roadshows. In addition there’s a free seminar
programme, chaired by MWP editor Mike Excell. Speakers
are Nick Orchard (left) - Specialist Engineer Measurement,
Rolls-Royce, who will highlight measurement challenges
presented by jet engine components; Mike O’Sullivan -
Head of Metrology at
airbus who will focus on large volume metrology;
and Jane Beaumont - Director of Accreditation at
UKAS, who will discuss new approaches in
assessment and accreditation.
The permanent exhibition of aircraft through the
ages is an added attraction, and the visitor day pass
also gives access to the Concorde flight simulator. The
event runs from 09.30 to 17.00, there’s plenty of
parking space, and complimentary tea, coffee and
