DIGGING THE DIRT IN THE MORTGAGE WORLD...
● KISS ME QUICK For professionals in
the mortgage market finding love can be
difficult. We’re all so busy keeping up
with which products have been
withdrawn, what lenders have gone bust
and the latest foolish idea the
government has come up with, to think
about romance.
But everyone needs a little love and
when times are tough a cuddle goes a
long way. So Mole was pleased to hear
about a new dating website that
encourages like-minded individuals to
get together and let the sparks fly.
Executive Dating is a singles club and
dating site that allows professionals to
flirt their way through an evening of
good conversation and maybe more.
Interested parties can sign up at
www.executive-dating.co.uk.
Mole is hoping to meet a like-minded
mammal who knows her MBS from her
SME and shares his appreciation of the
stock market. Any takers?
● FREEDOM RUN Mole wishes the team
from Freedom Finance who are running
the Great Manchester Run this Sunday
the best of luck.
The team is running in aid of charity
Kidney Research UK because one team
member, Justin Glue, suffers from adult
polycystic kidney disease. Glue’s mother,
brother, aunt and cousins are all coping
with kidney disease. His aunt and cousin
have both had successful transplants but
his mother is still waiting for one.
“As I have two young children who
can’t be tested for the disease until they
are 18 I want to raise money to support
research and hopefully the development
of less intrusive medical remedies as a
substitute for dialysis,” Glue told Mole.

● GREED II Mole was excited to hear
that superstar director Oliver Stone has
signed a deal to direct a sequel to his hit
1987 film Wall Street.
The movie, which starred Michael
Douglas as an unscrupulous banker,
shocked viewers who found it difficult to
believe that financial master-puppeteers
could be so ruthless or self-centered.
Fast forward 22 years and we’re all too
aware of it.
But Mole wonders whether a
cinematic sequel is really necessary.
Surely a montage of news clips featuring
12 months in the life of Sir Fred the
Shred would be equally disturbing and
twice as nasty.
● WAG WOES Are you finding it tough
to cope financially? Is the career that
you’ve worked so hard for hanging by a
thread? Well stop feeling sorry for
yourself and spare a thought for that
most pitied group in society, the wives
and girlfriends of bankers.
After years of living the high life on
the back of their other half’s career, the
lady friends of City boys are starting to
feel the pressure as their budgets are
slashed in the dreaded credit crunch.
So distraught are they that an online
support community has been set up to
help these poor women find strength.
DABA – Dating A Banker Anonymously –
features heartbreaking stories such as
that of a 24 year old with a former
banker boyfriend who complained that
her man gave her the “we need to spend
less money” talk, explaining how trips to
Tiffany’s and stays in five-star hotels
would no longer be the norm.
Mole’s heart bleeds for her and all the
other DABA girls. Who’d have thought
tarting yourself up and dropping your
knickers would not be a sustainable
career.
